NovaCardia Files IPO Registration Statement

SAN DIEGO, CA -- NovaCardia announced that it has filed a registration statement with the SEC, intending to sell common stock in an initial public offering.

The company is a privately-held clinical stage pharmaceutical firm, and is developing drugs to treat major cardivascular diseases, such as congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation.

NovaCardia is backed by Forward Ventures, InterWest Partners, Montreux Equity Partners, Skyline Ventures, Domain Associates and Versant Ventures.
